Today I bring you one of those old legends that we can still listen: Oasis (first known as "The Rain"). This rock band, that was formed in Manchester around 1991, has been very influenced by the music of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Stone Roses and The Who. Its members were:
  • Liam Gallagher
  • Paul Arthurs
  • Paul McGuigan
  • Tony McCarroll
  • Noel Gallagher (I suppose you have realized he was Liam's brother)
Nowadays, most of them have split up so the current members are:
  • Liam Gallagher (the vocalist)
  • Gem Archer (as guitarist)
  • Andy Bell (like bass guitarist)
  • Chris Sherrock (drummer)
  • Jay Darlington (keyboard player)
After a not very promising beginning, Oasis signed with Sony record company in 1993. In 1994, they begin to bring out his first work: Definitely Maybe, which was very succesful. In 1995, the British group developed a new album:(What's the Story) Morning Glory?, an authentic best-seller, that brought them great popularity. Other of their CDs have been: Be Here Now [1197]; Don't believe the truth [2005](some people think this is their best album. Personally I prefer (What's the Story) Morning Glory?) and Dig Out Your Soul [2008].

The band separated on 28th August 2009, because of several disagreements between the pair of brothers. We can say the hostility between Noel & Liam was too big. Actually, although they have announced they're going to publish a new album in June of this year, they haven't record new songs since they broke the band: it's a compilation of their old great successes.
